FAQ

Assisted Living Facility Licensing questions

Do I need a CON?

Some states (FL, GA, NC) require Certificate of Need for ALF expansion. We screen state-by-state.

Administrator license required?

Yes in most states. Some accept RN with experience; many require dedicated ALF administrator certification.

Memory care wing — special?

Yes — dementia-specific staff training, secured units, and often a separate license endorsement.

Medicaid waiver enrollment?

Each state's HCBS waiver is different. Plan 6–12 months for enrollment after licensure.
