CloudsCreditRepair™ FAQ

What is a Method of Verification request?

A Method of Verification (MOV) request is a follow-up to a dispute investigation asking the credit bureau to describe how it verified the disputed information.

Explanation

Under the FCRA, consumers have the right to know what procedure was used to verify a disputed item.

A vague or non-responsive MOV reply can support escalation to the original creditor, regulators, or litigation.

Examples
  • Sent after a 'verified' dispute response
  • Requests names, addresses, and procedures used
  • Strengthens follow-up disputes
